Italian culinary experiences

Limited to 8 students, you will be under the guidance of highly experienced local chef Gino Minacapilli. You will be encouraged to be as hands on as possible depending on the actual dish being prepared.

Guests are amazed at the quality of the food they help prepare and are inspired to return home to demonstrate their culinary achievements to their friends and family.

Gino is insistent that the act of 'cooking' is only one of a number of steps in the selection, preparation, cooking and the eating / or preserving of food, hence the title. Gino is a fun loving and very humorous man, who approaches his vocation with great passion and possesses a unique ability to convey his art in the simplest way. Learning with him is a great pleasure. Wherever possibe only the freshest and best 'in season' produce is used, collected from the organic kitchen gardens and /or local village markets.

There are five, three hour Culinary Experiences sessions per week from Tuesday to Saturday conducted by Gino and assisted by Robyn. The three hour sessions commence around 5.00 pm and each evening the 'students' will help with the preparation  and cooking of  three dishes for the evening dinner. Typically there will be  Antipasto, Seconda (main) and Dolci (dessert) plus an overflowing cheese board of regional cheeses to complete the meal. All meals are served with an endless supply of excellent local wines including the Agriturismo's own organically certified Barbera D'Asti, plus dessert wines and Grappa.

The quality of the evening meal resulting from fruits of the 'students' labours equals the best 'fine dining' experience.

Gino's objective is for each guest to leave with a far wider appreciation of Italian food and wine, together with the confidence to produce creative Italian meals in your own home.
